In a recent release the ICC stated it had written to lead representatives of the 21 APEC economies urging them to develop common principles for advertising standards across APEC economies. The letters were written prior to the February meeting of the APEC Committee on Trade and Investment (CTI).
As already reported the CTI sent the report of the Hanoi Dialogue to its Sub-Committee on Standards and Conformance (SCSC) to consider the recommendations from the Dialogue.
The ICC reports “National committees and local partners have shared encouraging reports of industry and some government follow up in several economies, including Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.”
